Major Russian Assaults Disrupt Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to water supplies, as stated by city officials.

Simultaneously, a young boy was lost their life in a distinct assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen missiles targeted energy facilities, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles damaged electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by city authorities.

Local officials said the city endured intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were injured.

The strikes come after periods of air raids in the territory, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the national power system, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were anticipating more assaults.
